Can you say what’s wrong with me?

As the Bowen Technique is holistic, with the client’s own body healing the underlying cause rather than a therapist analysing the symptoms, detailed diagnosis is not required. An understanding of the problems as they present themselves is however a helpful monitoring tool (e.g. how the ailments affects the clients everyday life) and this, together with the observations of the therapist, will form the basis of the treatment.

As with any health issue it is vitally important that you consult your doctor or other health practitioner if you feel the problem may be serious. In some instances your therapist may require a doctors note before they will take you on as a client, and they will not perform treatments on you if you are undergoing any other form of hands-on therapy as this may negate the effectiveness of the other treatment and is poor professional conduct.
